Swami Vivekanand Public School Gagret – Una – H.P. came in to existence on March 18, 1991. The school had only 66 students in four classes in the first session. At that time this area was not having good educational facilities. There were very few educational institutions. The purpose of starting the school was to make people aware of demands obligations and fields of education. The young children are able to learn and grasp new things readily, so we started the school with tiny tots. The school started on providing education with play way method. From the very first session the school laid emphasis on co – curricular activities along with studies. A number of such competitions are organized till date. The students represented the school at Distt. Level and State Level in activities like Group Folk Dance & Fencing.In each Session only one new class was added by upgrading the then present highest class. The school was upgraded to High School in 1999 and Sr. Sec. in 2000. We generally have about 550 students from classes 1st to 12th.
